Reviews for Capt. Anderson's Restaurant & Waterfront Market
Review highlights
Based on 5,232 reviewsCaptain Andersons is widely recognized for its inviting beach-themed atmosphere and attentive, friendly service. Guests frequently highlight the helpfulness and knowledge of the waitstaff, which enhances the overall dining experience, especially during busy times. The restaurant’s popularity often results in extended wait times, yet most patrons consider it worthwhile. Food quality receives generally favorable remarks, with many praising the freshness and flavor of seafood dishes like grouper, shrimp, and crab fingers, as well as the signature bread served alongside meals. However, there are occasional reports of inconsistency, particularly with certain seafood items such as scallops, which some have found to be subpar in texture and preparation. Overall, Captain Andersons is appreciated for its consistent ambiance, reliable service, and predominantly enjoyable cuisine, maintaining a strong appeal for both locals and visitors to Panama City Beach.
The staff is wonderful and the atmosphere is great as well. We had a party of 12 and while most of the people enjoyed the food, mine was just OK. I got the captains platter and while some of the food was good, the scallops were absolutely terrible. It's as if they were cooked from frozen, they were spongy and the breading was terribly soggy. This is the second time I've had the same experience. With that being said, we will definitely eat there again however, I will order something different.
Ate here for the first time and I did not regret it. The wait can be long bc it’s so popular. Daniel was our server and he was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Everything we had was delicious. From drinks, to appetizers, to main course. Especially the rolls that came with the crab fingers. We definitely will be back.
Just a great dining experience. First of of the food was delicious. We had grouper, shrimp, scallops, and seafood platters. Everything was fresh and amazing. The waitstaff was helpful with suggestions and very courteous. The atmosphere was fun and beachy. They are very popular, and for good reason, so be prepared for a little bit of a wait. Trust me, it is well worth the wait. Also we spent about $50+ a person but we pigged out. Don't skip this place.
Excellent service. Great food. Our server made our daughter’s 21st Birthday so memorable. Thank you!
I love their bread! We come to Captain Andersons every time we come to PCB. It is always delicious and I love the atmosphere. I always get a little piece of jewelry in the gift shop. It is a tradition!
Food was decent, but not out of this world. Prices were a bit higher than what seemed reasonable. The overall establishment is great, super clean, amazing staff, all the works. Food could have been better, would be willing to try again
First time ever to go deep sea fishing and absolutely had the time of my life! Caught many fish of different varieties. The captain was amazing at putting us on the fish and the our deck hand was terrific! They have a place you can take your catch and have cleaned and filleted and vacuum packed for a fee. They weighed our catch in at 32 pounds so we decided to take advantage of this and told us to come back the next day with the ticket they gave us and pick up our meat. Our only complaint was when we arrived to pick up our catch, we were missing some of the fish we caught. Specifically the more rare catches. When we told the man at the pickup, he weighed our meat in at 7 pounds, and said there was nothing that could be done. So we left with 5 bags of vacuum packed filets (which had 2 filets in 3 bags and 4 filets in the other two bags, and we left 22 fish) Lesson learned on that part of the experience. As far as the deep sea fishing with captain Anderson, we will definitely return for many more outings.
